A district peace committee meeting was held in the collector's chamber under the chairmanship of Jaunpur district magistrate Samuel Pal N, discussing measures to ensure Durga Puja and upcoming festivals are held peacefully, safely, and amicably. The district magistrate directed the concerned officials to immediately start all necessary preparations for the festivals and complete them in a timely manner. He directed the chief engineer of the public works department to carry out repair and patching work on damaged roads according to priority. He also directed the executive engineer of the water supply (urban) to immediately close all open covers of sewers and manholes, and the chief engineer of electricity to replace deteriorated wires and poles. The district magistrate directed the administrative officer of the Jaunpur Nagar Panchayat to ensure that there is no waterlogging anywhere in the urban area, and to make proper arrangements for that. At the same time, sufficient lighting and cleanliness arrangements should be ensured on main roads, puja pandals, and immersion places. He directed that all necessary preparations for immersion routes and places should be completed in advance.
