11 October, Devghar: During Sharadiya Navratri, special worship of Mother is conducted at Baba Baidyanath Temple in Devghar through tantric methods. This tradition has been followed for centuries, and is still carried out by Sardar Pinda Gulab Nand Ojha and State Purohit Shrinath Maharaj. This year 11 worship dates have been fixed at the temple. In addition, yajnas will be performed for nine days in the yajna kund located in the temple premises, which will conclude on Mahanavami day. State Purohit Shrinath Maharaj said that worship is performed at Baba Baidyanath Temple according to Shaiva and Shakta traditions. It is a religious belief that the heart of Mata Sati fell at this place, therefore special worship of Mother Shakti is conducted here. Under this tradition, the tantric worship started by the ancestors of Sardar Pinda is still completed according to the rituals.
